Online Counselling Therapy in BC

Hi there, my name is Emily Johnston, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, and I offer online therapy through out British Columbia.

Our Approach to Online Counselling in BC

Online counselling, or teletherapy, is a way of engaging in therapy from the comfort and safety of your own home. Similar to in-person counselling, online therapy offers you a safe space to talk about your mental health with a licensed counsellor in BC. Whether you are looking to heal from past trauma experiences, are experiencing current challenges, or wanting a safe place to talk, online counselling in BC offers a convenient way to connect.

Online counselling fits into your life rather than you having to make time to attend an in-person counselling session. You can join your online counselling session from anywhere you feel safe and comfortable. Maybe that's your home, your car, or sitting on one of BC's many beautiful beaches. Online counselling is flexible and meets you where you are.

Online counselling makes it easier to take that first step towards healing.

How to prepare for online counselling?

When you book an online counselling session, you can expect to receive a link to the confidential video session the day of the session. Each session is 50 minutes, so you will want to make sure you are somewhere comfortable. That might mean having a blanket or cup of tea nearby, a quiet space, and a place to speak freely. You'll want to make sure you have a good internet connection and a pair of headphones on hand to ensure privacy/confidentially. It might also be helpful to have something to write with and on during the session.

Online Counselling FAQs

Is online counselling effective?

Yes, online counselling is just as effective as in-person sessions. Although the format is different, the same modalities, resources, and strategies will be used.

What are the benefits of online counselling?

Online counselling is flexible and convenient. You will save on travel time since you can join from wherever you have an internet connection. This can be especially important if you live in a remote or rural community with limited access to counselling services.

How do you do online counselling?

You can book a free 15 min consult to get a sense of whether online counselling is right for you.

You will then book an individual session at a time that works best for you.

Using the link sent to you, you and your therapist will connect for the session.
